Profile
The
Howard County Dental Hygienists' Association (HCDHA) is a local component
of the Maryland Dental Hygienists' Association (MDHA) which is a constituent
of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA). The Association
is a professional organization which represents registered dental
hygienists who live or practice in Howard County.
Nestled
in Central Maryland, this component has been in existence since the
early 1970's. We are active in educating our local community of the
importance of quality preventative dental care to improve total health.

Mission
Statement
The
HCDHA has adopted the mission statement of the ADHA:
"To improve the public's total health, the mission of the American
Dental Hygienists' Association is to advance the art and science
of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care,
increasing awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention,
promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure,
practice and research and representing and promoting the interests
of dental hygienists."
Vision
Statement
The
HCDHA has adopted the vision statement of the ADHA: "Our
Promise to the Public We Serve Dental hygiene is an integral component
of interdisciplinary health care. Cognizant of the profession's
responsibilities in education, licensure, practice, research and
ethics, dental hygiene's promise to all people is to provide and
ensure access to quality preventative and therapeutic oral health
care, in order to improve the total health of the public."
